Churchwood is an excellent band, and I've enjoyed seeing them live many times. This album does a great job of capturing the power of their live shows. The strong vocals highlight songs that are alternately ominous and defiant, exclamatory and inquisitive -- all buoyed by strong and eclectic musical arrangements. The music is like a 21st expansion on the Blues tradition - while sounding little like anything that you've ever heard. I look forward to getting to see them again! - Robert Scott

I've been listening to this recording almost nonstop since receiving it. After reading the liner notes from Jeff Smith, I was stunned to find out that this was such a recent release. The music sounds so classic and timeless, I couldn't believe that it had just been released this year! I've heard many of the songs before, and enjoyed seeing The Hickoids before - and this is a beautiful time capsule.
